Integrated IPA/double IPA patch system
The IPA (one pre-amplifier) or Double IPA (two independent pre-amplifiers) system combines an integrated amplifier with an analogue/digital converter and SutterPatch software for data acquisition, management and analysis. The combination of two devices provides up to four head channels and 16 signals, including analogue inputs, analogue outputs and digital outputs. Data acquisition can be triggered by an on-board clock with microsecond resolution or an external TTL trigger. Imposed potential and impressed current can be switched automatically to avoid artefacts, with a holding potential of up to 1000 mV. The system is optimised for whole-cell recordings on tissue slices, adherent or dissociated cells. Data and analysis are visualised in 2D and 3D using the SutterPatch software, which also manages over 600 experimental metadata, covering biological parameters, instruments and applied stimuli. Additional modules enable synaptic event detection, action potential analysis and documentation of cell identity and status via camera. The optional front panel version facilitates I/O connections directly on the panel.
