Vertical stretchers SUTTER INSTRUMENT P-30

The P-30 vertical stretcher is designed for the manufacture of conventional pipettes, patch pipettes and microelectrodes with tip diameters of the order of 0.3 µm and moderate stretching cone lengths (6 to 10 mm).

Using a linking piece, the P-30 will stretch patch pipettes using the double pull method. Used with thin-walled glass capillaries, it generates microelectrodes or needles suitable for intracellular microinjections.

The P-30 is available with a platinum/iridium filament or a nickel-chromium (Nichrome) filament. The latter is more efficient in terms of heating and cooling and degrades less quickly. The platinum filament is recommended for drawing pipettes from thick-walled, aluminosilicate capillaries and for applications requiring short tip lengths.

The P-30 stretcher is ideal for laboratories looking for a cost-effective, reliable piece of equipment.

  • Front panel to prevent accidental insertion of the capillary into the filament enclosure, which could damage it.
