SMM-100C Manual Stereotactic Micromanipulator – NARISHIGE
The Narishige SMM-100C stereotactic micromanipulator is a coarse-motion manipulator designed for rapid X/Z adjustments outside the brain (bregma/lambd level). Each rotation of the Z button moves approximately 4 mm, improving efficiency during levelling or rapid removal. The SMM-100C incorporates an X knob that also moves coarsely, while the Y uses fine adjustment. The upper body can tilt between anterior-posterior (AP) and medial-lateral (ML) directions for use with tilt. A fine micromanipulator (e.g. MDS-1) is recommended for intracerebral operations.
Features of the SMM-100C Manual Stereotactic Micromanipulator – NARISHIGE
- Quick X/Z adjustments: coarse knobs (4 mm/turn) for rapid repositioning outside the brain
- Fine Y adjustment: 10 µm scale for antero-posterior movement
- Tilting body: AP/ML rocker for tilting, with SMM-A accessory recommended for ML tilting
- Minimum X/Z graduation: 100 µm (vernier graduation)
- Accessories included: hex keys, attached electrode holder, grounding screws and washers
