SZX7 Stereomicroscope – Evident-Olympus

The SZX7 is a highly modular stereomicroscope, designed for brightfield, darkfield, single polarised light, fluorescence and oblique light observations. It is available with a binocular or trinocular head, tiltable from 5° to 45°, with a choice of optical path (50:50, 0:100 or 100:0) for maximum flexibility. Thanks to its Galilean optical system using two independent parallel zoom paths, it offers superior optical performance and faithful colour rendition. Its 7:1 zoom ratio allows a range of magnifications from 8× to 56× with the standard 1× lens, and up to 112× with a 2× lens. A number of interchangeable lenses (from 0.5× to 2×, including apochromatic) allow the numerical aperture and working distance to be adapted as required (from 33.5 mm to 171 mm). The SZX7 can be fitted with transmitted or reflected light LED illumination, as well as fluorescent illuminators (mercury lamp, xenon or light guide). Its coarse and fine focus controls ensure precise handling, while its zoom has a stop that can be deactivated for each magnification. Compatible with Olympus DP series digital cameras and cellSens software, it offers high-resolution imaging and advanced documentation solutions, including high-sensitivity fluorescence imaging.

Features of the SZX7 Stereomicroscope

  • Bionocular or trinocular optical head, tiltable from 5° to 45
  • Trinocular head optical path selection: 50%:50%, 0%:100% and 0%:100%, 100%:0%.
Fluorescent illuminator with mercury or xenon lamp or light guide. Customisable reflected/transmitted light via 4-position LED
  • Coarse focus adjustment travel 80 mm – 120 mm by rotating 36.8 mm
  • Fine focus adjustment range per rotation 0.77mm
  • The SZX7 offers a range of magnifications from x8 to x56 with its x1 lens and a magnification of up to x112 with a x2 lens.

Lenses:

  • DFPL0.5X-4 Numerical aperture 0.05 Working distance 171mm
  • DFPL0.75X-4 Numerical aperture 0.075 Working distance 116 mm
  • DFPLAPO1X-4 Numerical aperture 0.1 Working distance 81 mm
  • SZX-ACH1X Numerical aperture 0.90 Working distance 90 mm
  • DFPLAPO 1.25X Numerical aperture 0.125 Working distance 60 mm
  • SZX-ACH1.25X-2 Numerical aperture 0.125 Working distance 68 mm
  • DFPL1.5X-4 Numerical aperture 0.15 Working distance 45.5 mm
  • DFPL2X-4 Numerical aperture 0.2 Working distance 33.5 mm

The Galilean optical system uses two independent, parallel zoom optical paths (right/left) to deliver superior optical performance and a highly modular system. Carefully selected lens surface coatings and apochromatic zoom optics allow the sample to be observed and documented in a colouration more similar to its original authentic colours.

The zoom lens has specific characteristics:

  • A high zoom ratio of 7:1
  • SZX-ZB7 Stop stop for each zoom magnification: can be activated/deactivated
  • Zoom travel: horizontal adjustment wheel system
  • Lead-free

The SZX7 can also be equipped with an Olympus DP series trinocular head and digital camera for high-resolution imaging and research documentation. The DP series cameras provide the high sensitivity required for a wide range of applications, including high-sensitivity fluorescence imaging, and can be easily controlled using Olympus cellSens software.
