Description of the Nikon Ts2 inverted microscope
The Ts2 is designed for routine cell culture applications where simplicity, reliability and compactness are paramount. Its integrated LED illumination in diascopic or epifluorescent mode (FL version) ensures bright, homogeneous images, with rapid installation and no complex alignment. The “Emboss Contrast” method offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional phase contrast, generating halo-free pseudo-3D images suitable for thick samples.
The ergonomic design, with accessible controls and low tabletop, reduces operator fatigue. Compact, stable and mechanically silent, the Ts2 fits easily into tight spaces such as laminar flow hoods. It is the microscope of choice for clinical and research environments focused on routine imaging and documentation.
Applications
- Bright field observation of cells and tissues
- Basic fluorescence imaging (with Ts2-FL)
- Use of Emboss contrast (iPS, thick samples)
- Rapid documentation in routine workflow catalysis
- Confined environments: fume hoods, hot rooms, shared trays
