Axopatch 200B amplifier
The Axopatch 200B is a reference amplifier for electrophysiological recording in impressed current (I-Clamp) and impressed potential (V-Clamp) modes. Its extremely low-noise design, thanks in particular to the cooling of critical components, makes it ideal for recordings in single-channel and whole-cell configurations, including currents in the picoampere (pA) range. Versatile, it supports three configurations via its preamplifier (patch, whole cell and loose patch) and features advanced functions such as Seal Test or ZAP mode to quickly switch to whole cell configuration. Designed to adapt to complex protocols, it offers optimum compatibility with all acquisition systems and provides unobstructed access to the sample thanks to its compact design.
Axopatch 200B Amplifier features: single cell recording, whole-cell patch clamp recording, extracellular recording
Key features
- Extremely low noise level for recording currents < 1 pA.
- Three recording configurations via preamplifier: patch, whole-cell, loose patch.
- Seal Test mode with impressed current (50 pA or 500 pA/pulse) and impressed potential (5 mV/pulse).
- ZAP mode (+1.3 V jump) for rapid patch break and switch to whole cell.
- Compensation of series resistors (equivalent to bridge balance).
- Three current output amplification ranges depending on the application.
- Dual potential control (summation of two input signals).
Performance and settings
- Two speeds in impressed current mode depending on pipette resistance:
- Fast I-Clamp (resistances > 10 MΩ).
- Normal I-Clamp (resistors < 1 MΩ).
- Compensation of pipette potentials up to ± 250 mV.
- 4-pole Bessel low-pass filters.
- Output gain ± 10 mV (wide compatibility with acquisition systems).
- Series resistance prediction for rapid maintenance of setpoint potential.
Technical and ergonomic aspects
- Digital display of current/potential parameters in real time.
- HL-U model pipette connector with very low mechanical noise, in silver, compatible with 1.0-1.7 mm O.D. pipettes.
- Input capacitance up to 1000 pF, allowing use with bilayers.
- Compact preamplifier design to free up experimental space.
- Compatible with all data acquisition systems.
