Stereomicroscope SMZ25 – Nikon

The Nikon SMZ25 is a top-of-the-range research stereomicroscope combining macroscopic and microscopic imaging. Featuring an innovative PZS zoom system, it offers an unrivalled 25:1 zoom ratio, exceptional resolution and uniform fluorescence, even at low magnification. Motorised and compatible with a wide range of optical and electronic accessories, this microscope meets the demanding needs of research laboratories, hospitals and academic establishments.

Features of the SMZ25 stereomicroscope

  • Zoom ratio: 25:1 (range 0.63× to 15.75×) – motorised
  • Total magnification: up to 315× with C-W 10×B eyepiece and SHR Plan Apo 2× objective lens
  • Maximum numerical aperture (NA): 0.312
  • Maximum field of view (FOV): ø 70 mm
  • Perfect Zoom System technology: dynamic adjustment of optical distance to optimise brightness and resolution
  • Reflected illumination (epi-fluorescence): Fly-eye lens for uniform fluorescence even at low magnification
  • Motorised units: Zomm and motorised focusing available (P2-MFU and P2-RC)
  • Observation methods: Bright field, fluorescence, single polarisation, darkfield, oblique illumination
  • Weight: approx. 32 kg (motorised epi configuration), 30 kg (manual epi)
  • Power consumption: 30 W (motorised), 10 W (manual)

Applications

  • Observation and manipulation of living organisms (e.g. cells, C. elegans, mouse embryos, zebrafish)
  • High-resolution fluorescent imaging (GFP/RFP) with optimised signal-to-noise ratio
  • Materials analysis and industrial R&D
  • Quality control, failure analysis, semiconductor inspection, MEMS
