SPECTRA X Light Engine

Lumencor’s Spectra X Light Engine is a robust, versatile and ultra-fast LED light source for fluorescent microscopy.
It combines six independent monochromatic sources (380-680 nm, extendable to 780 nm) with interchangeable filters, delivered in a compact housing. With switching times of the order of 10 µs and power of up to 500 mW per channel via a 3 mm liquid guide, it offers flexibility and performance comparable to an optical bench, while remaining very easy to use.

Features of the SPECTRA X Light Engine

  • Six solid-state LED sources, independently operable with NIR option
  • Interchangeable bandpass filters (7 supplied, can be added)
  • Ultra-fast switching (~10 µs), much faster than a mechanical filter wheel (~100 ms)
  • Power per channel: ~50-500 mW via liquid guide, 20-200 mW via 1 mm optical fibre
  • Control via GUI, TTL, RS-232, USB, Ethernet or dedicated box
  • Compatible with all microscopes via liquid guides or fibres, no alignment required
  • 24-month warranty, over 20,000 h of service life
